Lactoo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Lactoo iOS app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Lactoo is designed to keep most data on your device. Depending on the features you enable, we may process:

• Location: Used to detect the country you are in, personalize phrases and dishes, and (if you turn on arrival alerts) notify you when you arrive in a new country. Background / "Always" location is used only for arrival detection when you turn that on.
• Camera: Used on your phone to scan ingredient labels when you use the Review tab. We do not upload photos or video to our servers.
• Dairy profile and preferences: Your lactose and allergy settings, language preference, and related choices are stored on your phone (and may be shared with the Lactoo widget on the same phone).
• Usage on your phone: Small counters stored locally, for example to decide whether to ask you to rate the app.
• Communications: If you email us for support, we receive the information you send.

How We Use Information

• Show country-relevant phrases and dish guidance
• Personalize guidance to your dairy profile
• Scan labels on your phone when you choose to
• Send optional local arrival notifications
• Respond to support requests

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Lactoo does not require an account. Camera frames and label text are processed on your phone for the scanning feature and are not uploaded by the app. Location is processed on your phone, with Apple's help, to work out which country you are in.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Data Storage and Security

Preferences and profile data are stored on your phone, including storage shared with the Lactoo widget. We do not run a Lactoo user account database for this app.

Your Choices

• You can deny or later change Location, Camera, and Notification permissions in iOS Settings.
• You can turn arrival alerts off in Lactoo Settings.
• You can delete the app to remove locally stored preferences from that device.

Children's Privacy

Lactoo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
