Lactoo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Lactoo iOS app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Lactoo is designed to keep most data on your device. Depending on the features you enable, we may process:

• Location: Used to detect the country you are in, personalize phrases and dishes, and (if you enable arrival alerts) notify you when you arrive in a new country. Background / “Always” location is used only for arrival detection when you opt in.
• Camera: Used on-device to scan ingredient labels when you use the Review tab. We do not upload photos or video to our servers.
• Dairy profile & preferences: Your lactose/allergy settings, language preference, and related choices are stored locally on your device (and may be shared with the Lactoo widget via an App Group on your device).
• Usage signals on device: Lightweight counters (for example, to decide whether to invite you to rate the app) stored locally.
• Communications: If you email us for support, we receive the information you send.

How We Use Information

• Show country-relevant phrases and dish guidance
• Personalize guidance to your dairy profile
• Scan labels on-device when you choose to
• Send optional local arrival notifications
• Respond to support requests

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Lactoo does not require an account. Camera frames and label text are processed on your device for the scanning feature and are not uploaded by the app for that purpose. Location is processed on your device (and by Apple system services such as reverse geocoding) to determine country.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Data Storage & Security

Preferences and profile data are stored in on-device storage (including UserDefaults / App Group storage shared with the Lactoo widget). We do not operate a Lactoo user account database for this app.

Your Choices

• You can deny or later change Location, Camera, and Notification permissions in iOS Settings.
• You can turn arrival alerts off in Lactoo Settings.
• You can delete the app to remove locally stored preferences from that device.

Children's Privacy

Lactoo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Lactoo provides informational travel guidance about dairy and lactose. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always verify ingredients and consult a qualified professional for health decisions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
